You will not find many Windows Mobile, Google Android or iOS video editing applications that provide you will all the features you need to edit your videos. Most free apps provide basic functions that you can’t really rely on. However, there is one that stands out and provides you with everything you need: Videoshop. In this review, I tell you why this app should be your number one choice!

Interface 3/5

The Videoshop interface is really confusing. I have no problem with the primary interface where you add videos and select editing tools. My issue is with the editing tools section of the interface. They are not labeled, and there is no explanation on how you are supposed to use the tools. For instance, when you insert a text overlay, you need to pinch to enhance the text. This is not explained in the Android app that I tested. I had to learn by myself. I think this would be a significant problem for beginners.

Features and Tools 5/5

The first word that comes to mind when I think of the Android mobile version of this app is exhaustive. This tool has numerous features that enable you to tweak and style your videos to your desired taste. One of the main functions of the app is ‘Music’ which allows you to add music to your videos. Another great feature is sound effects which let you add different sounds of your choice to your videos, making them more interesting. Apart from this, the app offers voice-over, trim, slow motion, reverse and subtitles among other features. This app is useful for professional video editing, and it’s also an excellent app for perfecting your editing skills.

Usability 4/5

I have only one complaint about the performance of this app. When saving the changes I have made to a video, the progress bar gets to 99% and stops. I have had to cancel it a number of times before I could save my changes successfully. However, I appreciate the fact that the app doesn’t have any other major challenges and that the creators are always trying to improve the app. Since its release, the app has been updated up to 15 times. The latest version has a number of improvements including bug fixes and additional language support.

Devices 5/5

This video editing tool is an app for all Android devices, iPhone, iPad, Windows Mobile and tablets. However, the Windows version is not free; you have to pay $1.99 to use it.

Pros

  • Can be used for professional editing
  • Packed with great and useful features
  • Compatible with Google Android, iOS and Windows Mobile.

Cons

  • Confusing interface
  • You have to pay for the Windows Mobile version
  • Takes up a lot of storage space.
