Expanding the Wick Universe: John Wick: Under the High Table Set to Continue the Saga
Fans of the John Wick franchise have exciting news as a new action series is being developed that will serve as a sequel to John Wick: Chapter 4. This series, titled John Wick: Under the High Table, is expected to continue the narrative just after Chapter 4, according to Deadline.
The plot will follow John Wick as he navigates a precarious situation after departing the High Table. Along this journey, a host of fresh characters will strive to establish their influence, while some familiar faces from the franchise remain loyal to traditional values. Under the High Table aims to blend new elements with the familiar, propelling the Wick universe into uncharted territory.
Keanu Reeves will be involved as an executive producer, and Chad Stahelski, the director of all previous films in the series, is set to direct the pilot. The script will be written by Robert Levine, known for his work on The Old Man, which starred Jeff Bridges.
This new series isn't the first time the franchise has ventured onto television. The prequel series, The Continental, which explores how Winston, portrayed by Ian McShane in the films, came to oversee the Continental hotels in New York, debuted on Peacock last year.
Additionally, a fifth installment of the John Wick series is in the pipeline, and John Wick Presents: Ballerina, occurring between Chapters 3 and 4, is scheduled for a 2025 release. Despite the precarious ending of Chapter 4, the universe of John Wick continues to promise thrilling adventures ahead.
A release date for John Wick: Under the High Table has yet to be announced. In the meantime, viewers can prepare for an exciting lineup of new television content set to premiere in 2024 and beyond.
