2026-11-06 05:02:28 Bethesda Reveals The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel and Confirms Hammerfell Setting
A fresh teaser for The Elder Scrolls 6 has surfaced, confirming Sentinel as the heavily rumored name for the next chapter, though a launch date remains out of reach.
Bethesda Game Studios has now shared the title of the latest game in its long-running Elder Scrolls franchise: The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel.
This reveal arrived through a video marking the studio’s 40th year, where its major milestones were shown before creative director Todd Howard offered a new glimpse at the project.
““Everyone keeps asking about Elder Scrolls 6,” Howard said. “So we figured, in this moment, it’s the ideal time to finally share what The Elder Scrolls 6 really is called.”
The teaser is brief and does not show gameplay, but the camera glides across desert sand before a scroll with a mystical feel appears. Then the game’s name, as many fans had guessed, The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel, is unveiled.
The trailer description adds another clue about the game, saying:
- and it is credited in the lore to Yazar, Moth Priest to High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell (4E 206).
The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel has spent a very long time in development. First announced in 2018, today’s teaser and title reveal are the earliest new details shared about the game since then.
In a later post, Bethesda appeared to confirm that the game is set in Hammerfell, while noting that it will be “some time” before further details about the role-playing game can be revealed.
“Thank you for 40 years of shared memories,” the studio said. “We can’t wait to make even more together with The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel. Development continues, and while it’ll be some time before we’re ready to share more, it feels great to finally reveal the name and location with you.”
