Bear McCreary Reveals His Dream Project: A Mega Man Soundtrack

Featuring a remarkable array of projects that encompasses endeavors in some of the most renowned franchises, television shows, films, and video games, Bear McCreary may appear to have few aspirations left. However, there remains one particular project he dreams of undertaking: creating a soundtrack for Mega Man.

In a recent discussion, McCreary revealed that his initial ambition was to contribute music to the Lord of the Rings series, a project he is currently involved with through Amazon's The Rings of Power. Yet, he expressed that his ultimate fantasy lies within the realm of gaming. His wish is to compose for a Mega Man installment.

He shared, Mega Man 2 played a crucial role in his passion for video game music, fueling his desire for Capcom to revisit the franchise. He elaborated, if you take a listen to a track from my Singularity album titled Redshift, you would notice it incorporates samples derived from NES and Nintendo hardware. This composition reflects the essence of what my Mega Man score would embody.

The Singularity represents McCreary's latest rock album, showcasing collaborations with several well-known artists. He is embarking on a tour featuring this new music alongside pieces from his film, television, and gaming projects, with more insights about his journey and this musical endeavor available in our recent conversation.
