The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak is Out Now
The latest game installment from Falcom, The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak, has launched and is now accessible on PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. This English counterpart to Kuro no Kiseki is set within the scopes of the Calvard Republic and revolves around the charismatic Van Arkride, a Spriggan.
Van Arkride isn't afraid to work in the gray area of the law, taking on tasks that aren't exactly legitimate, differentiating him from the police and Bracer Guild. His life takes a turn when Agnès Claudel comes to him, seeking her great-grandfather’s lost ornament. This leads Van and Agnès on a notable journey with far-reaching implications. The backdrop of all this is the bustling capital, Edith, teeming with both political intrigue and criminal entities, like the unforgiving Almata.
The legendary tale introduces fresh characters while bringing back favorites from earlier games. The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak is the first game in the series developed using Falcom's new engine. Apart from enhanced visuals, the game offers players the opportunity to switch between real-time and turn-based combat modes, except during boss fights. Noteworthy as well is Van’s ability to summon Grendel, a formidable entity used to power impressive combo attacks.
