Anthony Mackie Teases a Grounded and Espionage-Focused Captain America: Brave New World
Anthony Mackie has shared insights about the upcoming film Captain America: Brave New World, revealing it will offer a more realistic and espionage-driven storyline similar to earlier installments in the Captain America series. He emphasized that this film will pivot away from the more fantastical elements seen in many recent Marvel productions. Mackie, speaking at the Disney APAC Content Showcase in Singapore, pointed out that despite the film’s introduction of characters like Red Hulk, the narrative will remain grounded. He described the film’s essence as reminiscent of the beloved Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
"If you observe the Marvel cinematic universe, it explores various genres," Mackie commented. "There’s the realm of fantasy, the cosmic adventures, and even the lighthearted antics of anthropomorphic characters. However, the Captain America stories have consistently presented a realistic backdrop."
"This entry aligns with the original vision of Captain America, highlighted by themes of suspense, intrigue, and grounded storytelling, ultimately engaging viewers more deeply with the plot."
Furthermore, Mackie disclosed that his character, Sam Wilson, will make a stop in Wakanda for a new suit, enhancing his abilities. "I can kick harder, I can fly faster, and it enables me to exhibit greater agility in my techniques, elevating all my skills to a remarkably higher standard,” he explained.
Fans can anticipate the culmination of these elements when the film premieres on February 14, or catch a glimpse in the trailer showcasing the likes of Harrison Ford’s take on Red Hulk.
